It is mostly said that the memory of the dead should be a warning to the living and former Sports Minister under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has sounded a note of caution to current Ghana Football Association(GFA) President.

He says Kurt Okraku should not repeat the mistakes of his predecessor Kwesi Nyantakyi but has called for support for the GFA boss.

According to the former Sports Minister it will be too premature to judge Kurt Okraku as he has not even spent a year as the GFA boss.

"Kurt Okraku has not spent even a year as the GFA president so let’s give him the opportunity to prove himself,"he told Kumasi FM

"Let’s together support him with prayers to succeed but he must learn lessons from his predecessor and make sure he does not repeat those same mistakes."

Kwasi Nyantakyi was the GFA boss for nearly 13 years having ascended the hot seat in 2013 before his empire was tumbled by Anas Aremeyaw Anas with his investigative piece dubbed number 12 where Nyantakyi was caught on tape taking money.

He has since been banned by FIFA for life from football and also lost his position on the Fifa council, vice president of CAF and is standing trial in an Accra High Court.
