Columbus Crew manager Gregg Berhalter has heaped bags of praises on Ghanaian international Harrison Afful on the back of the defender's stunner against David Accam's Chicago Fire.

Crew manager Berhalter was all praises for the 30 year old full back after he fired in a missile for his side as they thrashed Chicago Fire 3:0 to take his tally for the Major League Soccer side to two goals this season.

Harrison Afful took advantage of Chicago Fire's loose marking in the middle of the park to push his side forward by firing a thunderbolt of a shot in the 8th minute before 20,000 home fans at Ohio.

According to Berhalter, whatever the Ghanaian does should not come as a surprise to anyone considering that Afful is a "real player" and hugely talented.

“What I would say to you guys is:  He’s a phenomenal player,"he told the Club's official website.

Afful was tireless through out the game combining defensive duties with relentless attacking displays for his side. He seemed to have the better of country man David Accam who switched flanks in order to be more effective in the game.

This did not go unnoticed by Afful's coach who commended the Black Stars right-back for forcing "one of the better wide players" in the league to switch over.

“He’s a real player. He showed it tonight. David Accam, in my opinion, is one of the better wide players in the league and he had to switch sides to be able to stay in the game. Berhalter said of the tussle between the two Ghanaians.

The evidently impressed coach went ahead to commend his player for his tremendous qualities citing Afful's ability to come out victorious in one on one situations as a mark of a real player.

“And a lot of that has to do with Harrison and how effective he is at one-v-one defending. And then attacking, he gets forward, he’s relentless. Great shot, good pass, good dribbling. He has a lot of good qualities.
