Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has expressed his satisfaction with the return of experienced striker Joseph Esso to the team.

Esso, who recently concluded his stint in Algeria with MC Alger, has rejoined the Still Believe lads for a second spell after departing from the Algerian club in August 2021.

Zito welcomed the addition of Esso, emphasizing the value of his experience and skill to the squad. He noted that Esso's presence, along with that of fellow experienced player John Antwi, will strengthen the team significantly.

However, despite Esso's return, Zito confirmed that the forward will not be available for the upcoming clash against Hearts of Oak on Thursday.

"I'm very happy we've been able to sign another experienced player. Esso and John Antwi will enhance the squad," Zito said.

Regarding Esso's readiness to play, Zito explained that although the forward trained with the team on Tuesday, further assessment revealed that he is not yet prepared to feature against Hearts of Oak. Consequently, Esso will not be included in the matchday squad for the upcoming fixture.

“He trained with us on Tuesday, and after a careful assessment, I realize he is not ready to play against Hearts of Oak. His readiness fell below my expectations, so I will not include him,” he added.

Esso previously showcased his scoring prowess during his first stint with Dreams FC in the 2020/2021 season, netting 11 goals and making significant contributions to the team.
