Abdul Karim Zito, the coach of Dreams FC, has emphasized that the team is maintaining a grounded approach despite securing a historic semi-final berth in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Believers achieved this milestone after a 3-2 aggregate quarter-final victory over Stade Malien on Sunday. Their 1-1 draw at home against the Malian giants followed a memorable 2-1 win in Bamako the previous week.

Owned by the outstanding Ghana FA president, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, Dreams FC has defied critics and silenced doubters by reaching the last four in their debut campaign.

In a season marked by doubts and financial uncertainty before their involvement, Dreams FC has rewritten the script and could potentially make history as they face Zamalek in the semi-final.

Dreams FC finds themselves in a dreamlike scenario, becoming the first Ghanaian club in two decades to reach the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, a feat last achieved by giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in 2004.

"At the end of the day, we will not allow this qualification to go to our heads. We are going to keep fighting. You've seen it," Zito said.

“Here it was more challenging than when we played away. I told them this opponent would be tougher.

“They will be more challenging than what we faced over there. So, I believe people will take us seriously now as we head to the semi-finals. But trust me, we'll be ready."

The Believers will travel to Cairo to face Zamalek in the first leg of the semi-final on April 21 before the return fixture at the formidable Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi a week later.
