Dreams FC forward John Antwi has spoken out, asserting that the recent exploits of his team in the CAF Confederation Cup demonstrate the strength of Ghanaian football and refute claims of its decline.

Antwi, a veteran attacker, emphasized that football in Ghana remains vibrant and competitive, contrary to suggestions of its deterioration.

He highlighted Dreams FC's remarkable achievement in reaching the semifinals of the Confederation Cup in their debut appearance as evidence of the country's footballing prowess.

Despite facing formidable opposition, Dreams FC managed to overcome Stade Malien, securing a place in the last four of the competition.

In a thrilling encounter, they fought back to secure a draw against Stade Malien, clinching qualification with a 2-1 victory in Bamako.

Reflecting on this achievement, Antwi expressed confidence in the state of Ghanaian football, stating, "The recent success of Dreams FC in the Confederations Cup is a clear indication that the tantrums people are throwing at Ghana football is a fallacy."

Antwi, who has previously played for Al Ahly and Pyramids, highlighted the competitive nature of the Confederation Cup and emphasized that Ghanaian clubs are capable of holding their own against the best in Africa.

He believes that with adequate support and investment, Ghanaian football can reach even greater heights.
