Ofori McCarthy of Dreams FC has expressed his satisfaction with collaborating with Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito as they prepare for the decisive second-leg match against Zamalek on Sunday.

Their partnership dates back to 2021 when they achieved success together during the Black Satellites’ victory at the U-20 AFCON in Mauritania.

Now, the duo stands on the verge of securing a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup finals, pending a favorable outcome against Zamalek.

McCarthy praised Zito ahead of the pivotal match in Kumasi, sharing insights with Citi Sports about their journey in the competition thus far.

"It’s a pleasure working under him [Abdul Karim Zito] because he has seen it all. He’s a good coach with a lot of experience,"

McCarthy remarked. "I’ve been with him at the national team, in 2021 when we won the AFCON U20 in Mauritania, so I think he has a lot of experience and I think the confidence he has that’s what he always put in so much whenever we go onto the field to play."

McCarthy, who played a crucial role in the U20 team's recent Gold medal victory at the African Games under Head Coach Desmond Ofei, now sets his sights on further glory, aiming to add the CAF Confederation Cup to his trophy collection.

With Dreams FC fully focused on the upcoming second-leg encounter against Zamalek on April 28th, McCarthy and his teammates are determined to secure advancement to the next stage of the competition.

The team has already commenced preparations, holding their first training session after settling down in Kumasi ahead of the highly anticipated clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
