Former MP for Berekum, legal Practitioner and a former Local Government Minister, Captain (Rtd) Nkrabea Effah- Dartey wants the army officer who went viral kicking against the contructrion of a new parliamentary chamber to be “totally sacked” from the service.

He described his act as “unacceptable” and added that the punishment given to him by his superiors are “too soft”.

“You can’t do this anywhere, if you want to talk politics as a security person, resign from the work and go and do your politics,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Lance Corporal Lincoln Isaac Wassah of 2 Recce Squadron in Sunyani, was seen in a military uniform in the viral video supporting the social media campaign, 'Drop that Chamber'.

This, according to military regulations was against the rules of engagement, which forbids soldiers from engaging or involving themselves in such public campaigns.

Following the release of the video, L/Cpl Wassah was arrested by the Military High Command for interrogation.

A board of inquiry was set up by the Commanding Officer of the Recce Regiment Gondar Barracks Burma camp.

After questions and answers, the board came out with their judgement and concluded that L/Cpl Wassah should be stripped of his rank, and sentenced to 90 days imprisonment with hard labour at the guardroom.
