Myron Boadu, the Dutch forward of Ghanaian descent, aged 23, has secured a loan move to Eredivisie side FC Twente from AS Monaco.

The Netherlands international has returned to his home country for the remainder of the season, seeking more playing time.

“I was really looking forward to being back in the Netherlands,” Myron Boadu told the club's official website after sealing the move.

“I am happy that I now have the opportunity at a nice big club like FC Twente. FC Twente has a lot of quality in the team and hopefully great matches await us in the near future. We want to secure European football.”

“I already know some of the guys from the selection, I'm really looking forward to working with them”

Born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, Boadu has had limited opportunities with Monaco this season, making only nine appearances and scoring one goal.

Having joined Monaco in 2021 from AZ Alkmaar, Boadu has accumulated a total of eight goals and one assist from 52 appearances in Ligue 1.

His recent playing time was hampered by a muscle injury, which kept him sidelined for a month before Christmas.

Since his return, he has played just 19 minutes in a 2-1 victory against Toulouse before the winter break.

Monaco currently occupies the fourth position in Ligue 1, trailing just one point behind Stade Brestois.

On the other hand, FC Twente sits at the third spot in the Eredivisie, with a 17-point gap behind the leaders PSV Eindhoven and five points behind second-placed Feyenoord.

Boadu's loan move to FC Twente offers him a chance to regain match fitness and contribute to his new team's ambitions in the Eredivisie.
