Amidst the controversy surrounding the E-levy cake, Ghanaian media personality and host of TV3's New Day show, Berla Mundi has hit hard on the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, indicating how disappointed she is in him.

Speaking on the New Day show Thursday, Berla said she cannot fathom how the Vice President who has been silent on the controversial E-Levy will be present with the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsuh during the cutting of an E-levy cake to mark his 65th birthday.

According to Berla, she expected Mr. Bawumia to have advised Kyei Mensah-Bonsuh who doubles as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and those around at the time that the move was a wrong one.

The E-levy cake became
an issue for discussion when the Majority Leader together with some New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwarts were seen cutting a cake designed 'E-LEVY'.

This has generated a huge public uproar with some indicating the act is an insult to Ghanains especialy when a section of the populace has kicked against it.

"I am even more disturbed about the Vice President and the fact that he was there at time as well, because he has been loudly silent on this matter, especially looking at his position even before they came into power and what he said about not taxing poor people and then you attend a party where's there's an E-Levy cake," the obviously disappointed Berla could be seen firing on TV3's flagship morning show.

"It may not have been the fault of his because he was probably just a guest but did he also raise concerns about it that guys maybe this is not a good idea at this moment because Ghanaians won't be happy with you?" She chided.

She concluded the act was unfair having opined that it depicts that government is unconcerned insensitive about the concerns raised by the public on the controversial E-Levy.
