Hairdressers and beauticians in the Lower Manya Korbo district of the Eastern region have received support from the Akufo-Addo led government, to aid them in their field of professions.
The 57 hairdressers and beauticians were gifted with items such as hand dryers, hair washing basins, shaving and sterilizing machines among others.
20 beneficiaries who are hairdressing apprentices received standing hairdryers while 32 others who are masters also received hair-washing basins.
Five others who are barbers also received a set of barbering equipment each.
The beneficiaries were among the Hairdressers and Beauticians Association in the district who successfully completed a one-week intensive training workshop to improve upon their styles.
The District Chief Executive for the area, Felix Nartey Odjao, speaking at a grand durbar held at the Asesewa market square congratulated the participants for making it a must to be part of this all-important training program which had been put together by their mother association.
He explained that the government is fully committed to transforming the country for the better by supporting individuals excel in their respective businesses.
The DCE added that the Assembly and other development partners are ready to support the youth in the district to acquire more self employable skills.
He noted the District Assembly has in collaboration with The Hunger Project organized a training for 29 schoolgirls in the district to be trained in dressmaking in the subsequent months.
Mr. Kwame Ampim, the Regional President of Hairdressers and Beauticians Association said he was elated over the support given to their members in the district, adding that it will serve as a great source of motivation especially to the apprentices who are currently learning different trades.
