The Electoral Commission (EC) headed by Charlotte Osei, has filed an appeal for the judicial review of a high court presided in Accra over the nomination of Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom.

The EC in a statement wants the Supreme Court to nullify the high court's decision that it should give the Progressive People's Party  candidate another opportunity to make corrections on his nomination forms and also provide proves on the salient aspects of the constitution regarding candidate nominations.

Dr. Nduom was favored in a high court's ruling last Friday after his forms were rejected by The EC with claims that his forms were endorsed by the same subscriber twice with different signatures in the Central  and Volta Regions and by this, it has contradicted the rules governing elections in Ghana.

"In the interest of national peace and cohesion, we respectfully implore the highest court of the land to determine with earlier directive of Her Ladyship the Chief Justice and for the sake of the electoral calendar," said the statement signed by the EC's communication director, Eric Dzakpasu.
