The Electoral Commission of Ghana has revealed that there have attempts to hack the EC website amidst the ongoing general election results collation.

The EC's main website was reported to be unreachable at the dying end of yesterday as the electoral body expressed their inability to access the website via a tweet yesterday evening.

However, early this morning, the EC has announced the website's return to function on their official twitter page warning perpetuators of the internet malpractice to desist from their act and respect the independence of the Electoral Commission.

"We deplore the attempt to hack the EC's website. Please respect the integrity and independence of the EC" the official EC account tweeted this morning.
