Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Addo's move to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade has fallen through as the player's club Sheriff Tiraspol was unable to reach an agreement with the Serbian side.
The player and his representatives were angling for a move to Red Star and they had been in talks about a possible move all summer.
Sheriff Tiraspol was not averse to a move but Red Star Belgrade wanted a loan move whiles the player's club wanted to add an obligation to buy option something which did not sit well with the Serbian giants.
The transfer window in Serbia closed on September 15 but the two clubs were not able to reach an agreement meaning the central midfielder will still remain in Moldova.
Addo has a running contract with Sheriff Tiraspol that runs out until 2024 and joined the club from Slovenian club FK Senica in 2021.
Last season he was integral for his side as he played 33 matches across all competitions scoring one goal.
