The Ministry of Education has announced the successful completion of payments for two outstanding teacher allowances for November 2025.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Ministry explained that the Controller and Accountant-Generalโ€™s Department (CAGD) had fully processed and disbursed the allowances after resolving a technical challenge that affected the final payroll run.

According to the Ministry, the delay in payment was caused by an unforeseen technical issue, which has now been completely rectified, enabling the release of the outstanding funds.

The Ministry apologised to teachers across the country for the inconvenience the delay may have caused and expressed appreciation for their patience and continued commitment to delivering quality education.

It further assured teachers and the general public that it will continue to work closely with the CAGD and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen payroll systems and put measures in place to prevent similar delays in the future. Read the statement below:

The Ministry of Education wishes to notify all teachers across the country that the Controller and Accountant-Generalโ€™s Department (CAGD) has finished processing and paying the two types of teacher allowances planned for November 2025.
The Ministry acknowledges that a technical issue in the final payroll run prevented the payment from being processed as planned. This unforeseen challenge has since been resolved, by the CAGD, paving the way for the completion of the payments.
The Ministry of Education apologizes to all affected teachers for the delay and any inconvenience it may have caused. We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued dedication of our teachers, whose commitment remains central to the delivery of quality education across Ghana.
The Ministry will continue collaborating with the Controller and Accountant-Generalโ€™s Department and other stakeholders to improve payroll systems and prevent future issues.
Signed
Hon. Dr. Clement Apaak
Deputy Minister for Education
