The  pharaohs of Egypt will play South Africa's Bafana in the 'Mandela Cup' in preparation for the 2018 world cup qualifier against Ghana.

This will be the third time  the Pharaos are playing in the  Mandela cup, a competition  meant to continue with the legacy of the late African legend and first President of South Africa-Nelson Mandela.

The 2016 edition of the annual 'Mandel cup will be played on Tuesday,September 6, and it  comes at a time when the Pharaos prepare for the 2018 Russia world cup qualifiers where Hector Cuper's men will first play Congo while their second game will be against Ghana in Egypt.

The five times African champions Egypt were drawn against Ghana, Congo and Uganda in Group E, as the Black Stars attempt to make e their fourth straight World Cup appearance.

They will then play Uganda away and home, respectively, before hosting Congo in their fifth match. The Black Stars will play the Pharaohs in the last group game in Ghana.

This is the second time the the countries will be meeting in a World Cup qualifier following their meeting in 2013 where Ghana edged out Egypt out.
