The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Weija Gbawe constituency, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has expressed confidence in achieving an even larger victory margin in Saturday’s parliamentary election.

In the 2020 election, outgoing Member of Parliament Tina Naa Ayele Mensah secured the seat with a commanding 14,000-vote margin, defeating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Cleyland Nii Ayaa Ayison.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, Shaib stated that while the 2020 victory margin was impressive, his goal is to surpass it for a more decisive win.

“I believe that by God’s grace, I am going to be victorious. I am very confident but not complacent. We are praying and hoping that God will grant us victory, and the people of Weija Gbawe will trust us by voting overwhelmingly for me and my presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” Shaib said.

He added, “I am coming in with a 14,000-vote deficit, and my intention is to clear that and achieve even more.”
