Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team has stated that it will not be swayed by prophecies attempting to predict the winner of the December 7 general elections.

This response follows claims by some pastors during a recent interaction with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, that he would emerge victorious in the 2024 polls.

In an interview with Citi News, Anthony Karbo, a senior aide to Dr. Bawumia, dismissed such assertions, emphasizing that the team views them as mere predictions rather than divinely inspired prophecies.

Karbo added that the campaign remains focused on its strategy and engagement with voters, rather than being influenced by external commentary. ”

“I find those prophecies to be predictions. I don’t understand why prophecies are prevalent in Africa. I don’t understand it. Nobody talks about prophecies in other jurisdictions like China, America, Germany, and London. Those prophecies are only in Africa.

“We saw and heard prophets who said Kamala Harris was going to win, and what happened? What would have happened if we chose to believe in them? What would have happened because people said there was no way Donald Trump would ever be president?”
