Black Stars midfielder Elisha Owusu has been recognized for his outstanding performance by being included in the French Ligue 1 Team of the Week following his stellar display for AJ Auxerre in their 3-0 victory over Brest last Friday night.

The 26-year-old started the match and opened his season's goal-scoring account, contributing significantly to his team's success at the Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps.

Owusu scored the opening goal in the 26th minute, capitalizing on a pass from Sinaly Diomande. He also provided an assist, showcasing his versatility and influence on the game.

His impressive performance earned him a spot in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week alongside other notable players, including captain Jubal, who converted a penalty in the same match, and PSG's Achraf Hakimi, Bradley Barcola, Jonathan David, Angel Gomes, and Angola's Clinton Mata.

In the same match, Owusu's compatriot Gideon Mensah made his return from injury, coming on in the 66th minute as a replacement for Clement Akpa.

Looking ahead, AJ Auxerre will face St-Etienne in their next match on Saturday, October 5, as they aim to build on their recent success.
