Management of Ghana Premier League side Elmina Sharks have debunked reports claiming that players of the team have been evicted from their rented apartments.

Elmina Sharks house their players in an 18 bedroom apartment which is paid for by the club to the owner of the house every two years.

The club have been occupying the said apartment the last four years with the rent renewed every two years by the club.

Within the week there were reports that players of the club living in the building have been evicted due to management failure to settle rent arrears for the past 11 months.

Elmina Sharks have issued a statement rubbishing the reports and making clear the exact situation on the ground.

“The management of Elmina Sharks and the owner of the property have agreed now not to renew the agreement.

“The management of the team has decided to house the playing body in the team's own facility when the football season resumes”, a statement from Elmina Sharks has said.
