Elmina Sharks have rubbished reports claiming that senior members of the playing squad have boycotted training on Monday ahead of the start of the new season.

Reports have been circulating in the local media that players of the club have refused to train in protest of salary arrears and bonuses owed them from last season.

General Manager of the club George Wiredu has denied those reports as mere fabrication by some rumour mongers and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based OTEC FM, the General Manger said that normally the club does not train on Mondays and there has been no boycott from the players.

"Rubbish such a story, we don't train on Monday's. The players are well preparing for the upcoming season" Wiredu said.
The Sahrks will open their 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League campaign with a trip to neighbours Ebusua Dwarfs.
