Emmanuel Agyemang Badu decided against renewing his contract with Kumasi Asante Kotoko despite the club tabling a new offer before him.
Earlier there was news of the center back signing a new improved five year deal only for news to come out that there was no contract extension between the club and the player.
The player who left Kotoko on a free transfer has revealed why he decided not to renew his expired Kotoko contract.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Ashh FM, he revealed he wanted to play outside Ghana and also the club's offer made to him was not reasonable.
"I didn't want to continue with my career in Ghana that's why I couldn't register for Kotoko
As a young player I can rate my performance 85% with my stint with Kotoko"
"Kotoko Offer given to me wasn't reasonable that's why I didn't continue with Kotoko
I will wish all the current players of Kotoko the best of luck but I will miss ex Kotoko young chap Mathew Anim Cudjoe." he added.
The 24 year old center back joined Asante Kotoko from division one league side Phar Rangers in the 2018/2019 league season.
He made 12 appearances in 14 league games for the porcupine warriors in the 2019/2020 league season which was cancelled.
