Asante Kotoko assistant skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi is hankering after salary increment as part of conditions to  put pen to paper for a new contract.

According to a sports journalist, Evans Gyamera-Antwi, the former the diminutive winger is refusing to sign a new contract until his request is granted.

The 26 year old currently earns GH¢ 2,000 a month, according to reports.

Gyamfi has less than four weeks left in his contract as talks are ongoing for the winger to extend his stay.

He renewed his current contract by two years in June 2019 which will run out on May 31 this year.

The salary agreed on back then was GH¢ 2,000 and GH¢80,000 signing on fee which split to GH¢40,000 each year.

Meanwhile, the amount the player is demanding remains unknown but the reason behind what might be a significant increment is that the current Asante Kotoko management has decided not to pay a signing-on fee.

Although talks are still ongoing between the player’s representative and the club, the speedster on the pitch continues to show why he merits an improved contract.

Scoring his first goal this season in a 2-1 defeat to Medeama, the winger continued his season’s resurgence with a man-of-the-match performance in a 1-0 victory over Legon Cities last Saturday.

He is currently among the long serving players at the camp of the porcupine warriors.
