Midfielder Emmanuel Nettey on Sunday grabbed his first league goal for Accra Hearts of Oak in their 1-1 drawn game with Accra Great Olympics in the "Mantse Derby".

The number-10-shirted man scored a stupendous goal, and won the Man of The Match with his spectacular performance in the 70 minutes he lasted on the field.

It was his debut league goal in the Rainbow-Umbro shirt since he joined the Phobians last season and it came on a day he grabbed his first Man of the Match award for the season.

A corner cleared into play found the rushing Nettey who fired a thunderbolt into the top left corner of the post, sending the thousands of  Phobian fans into a Sunday night delirium.

There was composure, power and precision behind his strike and it gave a strong indication that was exactly what he came into game with.

He had tried and failed on two occasions to score from far yards but when the opportunity presented itself for the third time in the 49th minute, the giant midfielder did it in a spectacular fashion.

Together with Salifu Ibrahim and Benjamin Afutu, the Phobians dominated play and created more chances which were easy to miss the to score.

The team however had to settle for a draw as Olympics came back 71st to equalise through Abbey Quaye.

Nettey, this season, thus become the the fourth Hearts of Oak midfielder to win the NASCO Man of the Match after Manaf Umar, Salifu Ibrahim and Benjamin Afutu.

He joined the former African Champions at the beginning of last season under Coach Edwards Nii Odoom.

He lost his position at the beginning of the season but has since regained a starting role under coach Samuel Boadu, rewarding himself with a goal so good to contest for the "goal of the season" in a Derby.

But that came after Isaac Mensah's  perfect goal from a long range strike was disallowed.

The ball had hit the bar, cross the line before bouncing back to play but Referee Rustum Sernogbe failed to call for a goal as he received no indication from his linesman.
