Serie A side Empoli have expressed their sympathy and condolences to their midfielder Afriyie Acquah following the death of his father Alfred Baah Yeboah.

The 62-year-old was pronounced dead at the Sunyani Regional Hospital on Monday where he was admission for the past one month.

A statement on the club’s official website read; “The president Fabrizio Corsi and the whole family of blue express their closeness and their condolences to Afriyie Acquah for the death of his father Alfred Baah Yeboah”

This comes as a huge blow for the 27-year-old was scored his first goal for Empoli on Sunday in the 3-0 win over Sassuolo.
