English third-tier side Blackpool are expected to announce the imminent arrival of  Rangers striker Joe Dodoo on a season-long loan deal in the coming hours.

The deal was due to be announced yesterday, when the 22-year-old attended Bloomfield Road to finalise his deal.

But The Seasiders are still waiting for the green-light from the Glasgow club, though this is expected to be a formality.

After a disastrous loan spell at Charlton, Dodoo spent most of his time with Rangers playing the odd game for the Under-20s.

Former manager Mark Warburton brought Dodoo in 2016 from Leicester on a high transfer fee but the Ghanaian has failed to light up the Ibrox park.

The 22 year old forward has managed only 27 appearances in two seasons for the club.

Rangers have started a rebuilding process, with appointment of Steven Gerard as head coach to give Celtic some much-needed competition in Scotland.
