As the year draws to a close, it is time to remember the figures from the worlds of arts and entertainment figures who died in 2018. Here is a look back at some of those we said farewell to.

The year began with the deaths of three musical giants - jazz trumpeter , Cranberries singer and The Fall's .
Other notable artists from the world of music to leave us included Motorhead guitarist , French singer and Kinks bassist .
We also said goodbye to fantasy author , Maid Marian actor , author , Teletubbies actor , Police Academy director , cult TV star and Home and Away actress .

Two faces from the small screen - House of Cards actor and Frasier's - left us in February, as did , the director of Alfie, Educating Rita and three James Bond films.
Others to take their leave this month included The Vicar of Dibley's , The Crystals' , The Real Thing singer , film composer , Pixar animator , Hollywood producer and author .

Three much-loved television stars bowed out in March: long-time Bullseye host , Eurovision Song Contest host and tattyfilarious comedian .
The same month also saw the deaths of French actress , Heartbeat actor , rapper and South Korean actor .

The deaths of Swedish DJ (real name Tim Bergling), Austin Powers actor and TV presenter cast a sombre pall over April.
We also said goodbye to two directors of international repute - double Oscar-winner and Italian film-maker .
April also saw abstract artist , W1A actor , sitcom writer , Marine-turned-actor , Twin Peaks actress and Overtones member depart.

Superman actress left us the same month we said goodbye to two American literary greats. was the author of Portnoy's Complaint, American Pastoral and many other novels, while gave us The Right Stuff, The Bonfire of the Vanities and The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.
British film editor , Minder star , Irish playwright and US actor Clint Walker also passed away, as did , one of the original Munchkin actors from The Wizard of Oz.

Celebrity chef , EastEnders actor and fashion designer were among the famous people who left us in June.
Others included Elvis Presley's drummer , "Bond girl" , former Love Island contestant , Twin Town actress , Jackson family patriarch , former Fleetwood Mac guitarist , artist and Irish actor .
Fans also paid tribute to US rapper - real name Jahseh Onfroy - after he was shot and killed in Florida at the age of 20.

Hollywood said goodbye to 1950s idol , while the theatre world bade farewell to Cats choreographer and playwright .
Others to leave us included Colditz actor , Crossroads and The Archers actress , Stig of the Dump author , composer , French film-maker , cinematographer , Alexander McQueen muse and musician .
There was also radio silence for , the US DJ who inspired Robin Williams' character in Good Morning, Vietnam.

Laughter turned to tears in August with the death of , one half of the comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers. The same month also saw the deaths of novelist and "queen of soul" .
In the month we lost a queen, we also said farewell to a pair of Kings - Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist and jazz singer .
Others to depart included US playwright , film actress , songwriter , Huntress frontwoman , LazyTown actor and Broadway star .

Another much-loved duo lost a member in September when - one half of Chas and Dave - died at 74. The same month also saw the deaths of BBC radio presenter and '70s movie heartthrob .
We also said goodbye to Heartbeat actor , Carry On actress , Star Wars producer , Morecambe and Wise choreographer , US rapper , It'll Be Alright on the Night host and Blake's 7 star .

More musical luminaries left us in October - suave French singing star and Jefferson Airplane co-founder - as did much-loved Rainbow presenter .
Others we lost included Beatles sound engineer , Steptoe and Son writer , All That Remains guitarist , Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory actress , The Walking Dead's and rapper .

Newsreader signed off at the age of 93. November also saw the deaths of Italian film director and comic book legend .
We also said a fond farewell to Beverley Sisters twin , Vicar of Dibley actor , Hong Kong film mogul , screenwriter , US magician and actor , SpongeBob SquarePants creator , Love Story composer , boy band member , Electric Light Orchestra cellist and stuntwoman .

The end of the year brought the sad news that actress and director , Buzzcocks lead singer and jazz star had left us.
As 2018 drew to a close, time also caught up with actress , TV art historian , US actor , British-born actor , Israeli author and Alien's Bafta-winning production designer .
