Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Bonsu has tested positive for the coronavirus as announced by his club Esperance de Tunis.

The former Asante Kotoko midfielder underwent the test on Thursday with the results coming out on Friday.

According to the club, the player is asymptomatic and is already self isolating as standard procedure demands.

The Tunisian club posted an official statement on their twitter handle:

"Kwamé Bonsu has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines," a club statement said.

The Ghanaian midfielder joins a tall list of persons at the Tunisian club who have tested positive for the coronavirus.

It includes head coach Moine Chaabani, Second assistant coach Othman Najar and Physical trainer Sabri Bouazi

Kwame Bonsu is already receiving treatment and it is hoped that he will return a negative results in the coming days.
