Persib Bandung have comfirmed they will be without star midfielder Michael Essien when they face PSM Makassar in their must win Presidential Cup Group A encounter on Friday.

The Ghanaian international rejoined his teammates in parts of the training session on Tuesday but it is still unclear when he will receive medical clearance.

Head Coach Mario Gomez has additional selection headache as he will also have to do without the services of Bojan Malisic and Ezechiel N'Douassel due to accumulated two yellow cards.

The Bandung Tigers currently lie in third place on three points going into the last round of matches in Group A and will need a victory to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next round.
