Two National Democratic Congress (NDC) agents have been shot at Kasoa in the Ewutu Senya East constituency of the Central Region.

According to a report by Citi News' Calvis Tetteh, the unfortunate attack was carried out by unknown gunmen at the Step to Christ Polling Station in Kasoa.

Calvis told Omaru Sanda as monitored by Ghana Guardian that the NDC agents, numbered three were occupying a Kia saloon car when the gunmen opened fire on them.

He said the unknown gunmen who were driving in a black V8 vehicle sped off immediately after carrying out the barbaric attack.

The report said one victim who was shot in the left arm is in critical condition and has been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

"Please hospital, this is secondary matter, I'm dying please, I'm dying.", the wounded is heard pleading with the onlookers to take him the hospital before he later explains what really occurred.

One of the victims who managed to speak to Calvis said they were on official duties in the constituency when the gunmen accosted them and opened fire on their vehicle.

The police and the military have been deployed to the scene, according to the reporter.

The Ewutu Senya East constituency has been identified as the one the hotspots with respect to the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections currently ongoing across the country.

It will be recalled that shots were fired in this same constituency during the EC's mass voters registration exercise months ago.

Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mavis Hawa Koomson who doubles as the Minister of Development Initiatives later admitted to firing the shots. According to her, she did so in self-defence to disperse a mob that was attacking her.
