Former Ghanaian U20 star, Ebenezer Assifuah, has embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining Malaysian top-flight club Kedah Darul Aman FC at the age of 30.

The prolific striker, who earned acclaim as the top scorer at the 2013 World Youth Championship, has made the move to Asia after departing French club FC Pau.

Assifuah's journey to Kedah Darul Aman FC began last year when he initially joined the club's B team and trained with them.

Now, he has officially signed with their senior side, marking a significant step in his career.

“KDA FC proudly announces the arrival of Ebenezer Kofi Assifuah-lnkoom, a player hails from Accra, Ghana who previously played with KDA FC B last season. With dexterity and sharpness in front of goal, he will fill the Canary's striker position this season!

“Welcome back Ebenezer Assifuah to the Sang Kenari family, this season with a more experienced team, interesting to watch his venomous touch in front of the opponent's goal,” a club statement said.

Despite the early promise he showed on the international stage, Assifuah's career trajectory in Europe has been a mix of ups and downs.

Following his standout performances at the 2013 World Youth Championship, where he caught the eye with his goal-scoring prowess, Assifuah joined Swiss club FC Sion before moving to Le Havre.

However, his time in Europe didn't unfold as expected, and he eventually found himself at FC Pau. Despite facing setbacks, including a serious knee injury, Assifuah remained determined to revive his career.

Now, with his move to Kedah Darul Aman FC, Assifuah aims to reignite his passion for the game and make a significant impact in Malaysian football.
