A former Executive Secretary to immediate past Inspector-General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu, Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo has beaten incumbent MP to win  the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Wa West Constituency.

Superintendent Tuubo who voluntarily resigned from the service on May 1, 2019 convincingly won by a landslide victory with 755 to beat the veteran politician, Joseph Yieleh Chireh who polled 317.

He was among 34 aspirants who were cleared by the party to contest in the parliamentary primaries in all the nine constituencies of the Upper West region.

A few months ago, Supt. Tuubo became an internet sensation when a video of him hitting out against corruption in the police service went viral.

Other incumbent MPs who lost in Saturday polls include Ras Mubarak in the Kumbungu Constituency and  Emmanuel Nii Okai of the Amasaman Constituency.
