After undergoing a successful operation on his fractured metacarpus on Monday, Ghanaian international Mubarak Wakaso has been cleared to start training on Thursday, Ghanaguardian can Confirm.

The Deportivo Alavés midfielder picked up fractured the metacarpus of his right hand during his side's 4-2 loss away at Osasuna last Saturday.

The 29-year old midfielder successfully went under the knife at Mutualia HAR on Monday and has now been given the clearance by his doctors following a thorough examination of the recovered fracture.

The recovery period was as scheduled and from tomorrow (Thursday), Wakaso will return to training with the rest of his Alaves team mates ahead of their upcoming Laliga game against Real Valladolid this Saturday.

Wakaso's timely recovery is not only good for Alaves but the Ghana national team as well.

The experienced international is one of the key men Ghana Coach Kwesi Appiah is looking up to ahead of the Black Stars first AFCON 2021 Qualifier against South Africa's Bafana Bafana in Cape Coast next week.
