Police in Wenchi have arrested a 48-year-old farmer for allegedly murdering his brother at Amoakrom near Buoku in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Sombor Naah Nimboyele allegedly confessed to butchering Kwabena Anthony for stealing his cockerel.
Wenchi Divisional Crime Officer DSP, Vincent Adotey explained to Gaskiya FM’s Anass Sabit the police had information of a murder in the town at about 9:30pm on Tuesday, August 2.
He said the people from the village arrested him and could have lynched him but the police quickly went to his rescue.
The suspect who is currently in police custody is set to appear before court on Thursday, August 4.
DSP Adotey said the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.
