FC Aarau secure Ghana forward Afriyie Barnieh on long-term deal
5th March 2026
Swiss side FC Aarau have confirmed that Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh will remain at the club until June 2028 after activating an option in his contract.
The 24-year-old joined Aarau from fellow Swiss club FC Zürich last summer and has quickly established himself as a key figure in the team.
Afriyie Barnieh made an immediate impression on his debut by finding the back of the net, a moment that set the tone for a strong first season with the club. Since then, the Ghana international has continued to deliver consistent performances, becoming one of Aarau’s standout players in the current campaign.
His work rate, pace and eye for goal have made him an important part of Aarau’s attacking setup, earning the confidence of the club’s management to secure his long-term future.
The contract extension signals Aarau’s commitment to building around the talented forward as they look to strengthen their squad and achieve their ambitions in Swiss football over the coming years.
