Ghanaian midfielder Sabit Abdulai has successfully undergone surgery after suffering a serious knee injury while playing for Portuguese side F.C. Alverca.

‎The 26-year-old damaged his left knee during a league match against C.F. Estrela da Amadora on 31 January 2026, with medical examinations later confirming an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

‎Abdulai has now undergone surgery as he begins a lengthy recovery process that is expected to keep him out of action for between six and seven months.

‎The midfielder, who previously played for Spanish club Getafe CF, had been an important figure for Alverca before the injury setback.

‎His absence is likely to be a significant blow for the Portuguese club as he focuses on rehabilitation in the coming months.

‎Abdulai will now begin the road to recovery, with hopes of returning to full fitness before the end of the year.
