FC Samartex 1996 has secured their first-ever Ghana Premier League title with a 1-0 victory over Bibiani GoldStars FC on Sunday.

The decisive goal came from Emmanuel Mammah in the first half, setting off jubilant celebrations at the Nsenkyire Stadium, expected to continue deep into the night.

Samartex entered the match knowing they needed to avoid defeat to claim the title, especially after second-placed Aduana FC's loss to Bechem United on Saturday.

The dethroned champions, Medeama, further paved the way for Samartex's triumph by losing 1-0 at home to Heart of Lions.

With this victory, the Timber giants have established a commanding nine-point lead at the top of the table with just two matches remaining in the season, solidifying their dominance and historic achievement in the Ghana Premier League.
