Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, the owner and bankroller of FC Samartex, has called for extensive reforms across Ghana’s national football teams.
His comments come after the Black Galaxies were held to a goalless draw in the first leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Dr. Nsenkyire emphasized the need for systemic changes to improve the performance of Ghana's teams, particularly the male squads.
"The various national teams need reforms. It is about doing the right things," he stated. "If the Black Galaxies fail to qualify, what happens to the players? While the female national teams seem to be performing well, the male teams have struggled, and I believe the Executive Council is working to address this."
The Black Galaxies face a crucial return leg against their Nigerian counterparts at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on December 28.
The winner of the tie will earn a spot in the 2024 CHAN tournament, set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
