Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Asamoah has decided to commit his international future to Togo after waiting in vain for a call up to the Black Stars of Ghana.

The 27 year old who currently plays for Romanian side FC U Craiova 1948 was born in Accra to a Ghanaian father and a Togolese mother.

After waiting without success to play for the more illustrious and decorated Black Stars, Asamoah has pledged his International allegiance to the country of his mother.

With time running out for the 27 year old midfielder, he has accepted an invitation to play for Togo for the first time.

Asamoah born in Accra-Ghana holds a Ghana passport and will need to switch his nationalty before he can play for the Hawks of Togo.

The central midfielder who started his career at the famed Aspire Academy has played the majority of his football career in Belgium.

He has played for clubs such as Saint-Truiden, Leuven and Eupen all in Belgium in the past.

Togo like Ghana qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2006 and participated in eight Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
