Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis have been handed a transfer ban by world football governing body FIFA after their refusal to compensate Ghanaian striker Basit Abdul Khalid after their unilateral termination of his contract.

The 25-year-old who joined the club in January 2021 saw his contract terminated in July which runs until 2023 by the club over an unimpressive performance.

However, FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on the club until the payment of the arrears of five thousand euros to the Ghanaian striker for breach of contract.

He is currently a free agent after terminating contract with the club and is hoping to secure a new club soon.

The Ghanaian striker managed only three goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for Esperance across the period he spent at the club.
