Teenage prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi has swept aside months of speculation about his future after putting pen to paper on a new five year contract at least until 2024 with his boyhood club Chelsea.

Odoi continues  his stay with the club he first joined a decade ago as an Under-9 player.

The English born Ghanaian's contract was set to expire in the summer but has extended his stay at the West London club for a futher five years.

18 year old Hudson-Odoi was the subject of intense transfer speculation from German giants Bayern Munich in January with the Blues turning down a mammoth 4o million pounds from the Bavarians.

The Bavarians went as far as courting the Chelsea prodigy with Sporting Director Hasa Salihamisic and manager Nico Kovac publicly courting the talented forward but the blues have been able to hold firm onto their prized asset.

Lampard's return to the Blues and his insistence on the youth of kids might have swayed the twinkle toed 18 year old to commit to the pensioners.

After signing off the formalities, Hudson-Odoi reflected on the significance of his long-term contract and claimed his boyhood club was the right place for him to achieve his targets.

"I’ve been thinking for a while what it would be like to be playing for Chelsea for the next five years and how everything might go, especially now Frank is here as the manager. It’s a great feeling for all of us because we know he gives everybody a chance if you’re playing well and working hard."

"He’s a very good manager. I can tell that by what he’s trying to do and the things he’s trying to implement into our football. He has the mentality of winning, which we all want and we all need, so him coming in was just an extra boost for me"

"He’s already given me confidence, having a chat with me here and there, and it’s great when a manager has faith in you. I’m delighted he’s here and I’m looking forward to working more with him." he said.
