Fit-again Thomas Teye Partey made his first start for Arsenal in seven months, playing a crucial role in their 2-0 home win over Luton Town, maintaining their top spot on the Premier League table.

The 29-year-old midfielder had been sidelined for an extended period due to injury, causing him to miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year in Cote D'Ivoire.

However, Partey recently recovered fully and marked his return with a cameo appearance against champions Manchester City over the weekend.

Against Luton, Partey made Mikel Arteta's starting lineup, lasting 67 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by English international Declan Rice.

His return to the starting XI was a significant boost for Arsenal, showcasing his importance to the team's midfield.

Despite speculation about his future and links to other clubs, including Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia, Partey expressed his happiness at Arsenal and his desire to stay with the club.

“I know a lot of speculations have been going on, but for me, I'm really happy to be here," Partey said. "I’m happy to continue playing for this club; I like Arsenal.”

Having spent almost four years with Arsenal since joining from Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2020 for a fee of £45 million, Partey's commitment and contribution to the team remain crucial as they aim for success in both domestic and European competitions.
