There has been a lot of clamour from Ghanaian for the London-born Callum Hudson-Odoi to switch nationality and play for the Black Stars.

Since returning to Ghana for holidays he has been to the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo where he publicly urged the Sports Minister to do all he can so that the talented youngster can play for Ghana.

Although Hudson-Odoi has featured for the Three Lions of England a new FIFA rule on nationality makes him  still eligible to play for Ghana.

Edwin Gyasi who was born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents but has played for Ghana after he was overlooked by the Dutch has some words of counsel for the Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Gyasi says the London born winger should not bow to the incessant public pressure in Ghana but must rather follow his heart and play for the countey he wants.

“I will advise him (Callum Hudson-Odoi) to follow his heart rather than bowing to public pressure at this critical moment in his career,” Gyasi, a former CSKA Sofia and Samsunspor winger told Kasapa FM.

The English born winger with Ghanaian parents is the son of former Hearts player Bismark Odoi who played for the club in the 1980's.
