German-born Ghanaian defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has cautioned Ghanaian players born abroad to follow their heart before they make a move on nationality switch.

Since qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a  raft of Ghanaian players born abroad have been linked with a move to play for the Black Stars.

The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tariq Lamptey, Eddie Nketiah among several others have been linked with switching nationalty to play for Ghana.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh in 2015 switched nationality to play for Ghana but has since been snubbed and has been advising prospective players  who wish to switch  allegiance to Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with Happy FM, the BK Hacken defender urged those players to follow their heart before taking any  decision on nationality.

“You just have to listen to your heart. Many players can choose between two countries or even three countries. This is something you should decide on what your heart is telling you," he told Accra-based Happy FM.

The 30-year-old has capped just once for the Black Stars after switching nationality in 2015.

His debut came in a friendly against Canada in Washington in 2015.
