Former players of Asante Kotoko paid a heartfelt visit to the team on Tuesday, April 2, extending their support and wisdom to the current squad amidst the club's recent challenges.

The visit comes at a critical juncture for Kotoko, who find themselves in a difficult period with four consecutive matches without a win, marking the first time in 14 years the team has faced such a downturn.

Currently positioned 10th on the league table, Kotoko is gearing up for a crucial clash against Bechem United on Saturday, April 6, at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Stadium for Matchday 24.

Among the revered former players who graced the team's training grounds were Malik Jabir, Opoku Nti, and Sarfo Gyamfi, fondly known as "The Black President" by Kotoko faithful.

Their presence aimed to instill inspiration and motivation into the current players ahead of the pivotal upcoming match.

Sarfo Gyamfi, speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Wednesday, April 3, voiced his confidence in the team's capacity to rebound and return to their winning ways, starting with the weekend's showdown.

"I have faith that this weekend will mark a turnaround for us," Gyamfi emphasized, radiating optimism for Kotoko's potential success.

Furthermore, Gyamfi dismissed calls for the dismissal of head coach Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum, stressing the significance of solidarity and backing during trying periods.

"Why contemplate sacking a coach midway through the season?" Gyamfi challenged. "It's not advisable. What I advocate for is that we all rally behind him and offer our support."

Backed by the unwavering support of former players and reinvigorated determination within the current squad, Kotoko endeavors to reverse their fortunes and clinch a positive outcome in their imminent fixture, aiming to regain their winning momentum and ascend the league standings once again.
