Former world champion, Joshua ‘Grandmaster’ Clottey will return to ring for the first time in three years to take on 26-year old Mfaume Mfaume of Tanzania.

The Independence Week Rumble by Box Office Sports Promotions will be headlined by the Ghana lightweight championship rematch between the champ, Sherif ‘One Time’ Quaye and fans favourite Michael Ansah aka Bullet

But Clottey's fight on March 8 comes as abig news since his unanimous decision win over Ayitey Powers in December 2002.

At Press Conference was held at the head Office of Multichoice (Dstv) in Accra Joshua Clottey said he is not fighting for money but for the love of his country and the game of boxing, and most of all the promoter of the fight Mr Alex Ntiamoah Boakye who has indeed helped to raise boxing in Ghana.

“I want to fight and I still have the body to fight. Anytime I am sparring in the ring I think about the body and my body tells me I can still fight. After this fight my body will be calling for more fights,” he said.

Former IBF Champion Joshua ‘The Hitter’ Clottey will mount the ring to face an opponent from Tanzania named MFuame Mfuame in an International Super Welter Contest 10 ×3.

Clottey, who holds a record of 39 wins and five losses is clear about his motivation for the fight.

“I am not doing this for money. It is never a motivation for me at this time. I want the media to talk about me after this fight and I want them to tell me what they see in the ring and whether they think I am still going and I also want to honour my relationship with the promoter Alex Ntiamoah of Box Office Promotions,” he said.

“I have been sparring and I feel like I still have the body to fight boxing. I have fought a lot of big guys. I made some good money in the sport and I’ve been able to put up some good property and other things in place for my children. I am not going to the ring because I am hungry but because I want to fight again.

In other bouts for the night, Micheal ‘One Bullet’ Ansah has vowed to stop Sheriff Quaye in either Round of 4 or 5 in the twelve rounder for the Ghana National Lighweight Championship.

On the other bout  Sheriff ‘OneTime’ Quaye says he is going to discipline his opponent, Bullet.

There are other interesting bouts on the bill, but the match of the day which is going to pull the crowd to the Bukom Boxing Arena is Michael ‘One Bullet’ Ansah against Sheriff Quaye, the stylist boxer with a great future at the Bukom Boxing Arena on 8 March, 2019.
