Former Inter Allies coach Felix Aboagye has been deal a huge blow as he has been handed a 24 months ban by the Ghana Football Association(GFA) from all football related activities.

Team Manager Reuben Adjetey has also not been spared as he has been slapped with a similar 24 months ban.

This was announced by the Ghana Football Association on Monday 16th May, 2022 after months of painstaking investigation.

This follows his then clubs involvement in match fixing in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League match day 34 game with Ashgold SC at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

In the said match the miners defeated Inter Allies who at the time had been relegated to the Division One by 7-0.

After the game, then defender of Inter Allies Hashmin Musah who scored two comical own goals revealed in a radio interview that he deliberately scored the two own goals to foil a 5-0 score line he heard before the game .

Nine Inter Allies players have been handed 2-year bans including; Goalkeeper Danso Wiredu Mensah, Alex Aso, Abdul Kadir Mohammed, Isah Ali, Andy Opke, and Mohammed Zakari. The rest are Richard Acquaah, Shaibu Taufiq, Felix Abuska, and Goalkeeper’s Trainer Joseph Boye Markwei.

Both Inter Allies and AshantiGold have been demoted to Ghana’s Division Two, the country’s 3rd tier competition.

The decision will take effect from the 2022/2023 football season and has been communicated to FIFA so that these players and officials will be under the ban anywhere they go to in the world.
