Ghana Premier League side Karela United have confirmed the signing of former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Umar Bashiru.

Umar Bahsiru terminated his contract with Kumasi Asante Kotoko just before the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season was truncated.

The lanky offensive midfielder joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2018 under the tutelage of then coach C.K Akonnor.

But was not able to stake a claim in the teams as for most part of his Kotoko career was a substitute except some fleeting appearances.

The Anyinase based side announced his capture on Wednesday with a tweet on their official handle.

"Good afternoon. ..its exactly 1:30pm and we are delighted to welcome another midfield sensation Umar, formerly of Asante Kotoko to the home of 'Pride and Passion'... Enjoy your stay Umar New season. ...New beginnings"

Karela have been very busy in the transfer market  having already added the like of Yaw Ansah, Augustine Randolph, Prosper Arvoh, Obed Kofi Sam and Adotey Godfred to their ranks.
