Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu has sealed a transfer move to lower tier Swedish side FC Trollhättan.

The forward has signed a two year deal that will keep him at his new side until the summer of 2023 after completing his move on deadline day in Sandinavia.

He joins his new side from Swedish Superettan side Trelleborgs FF where he failed to nail down a place in recent times.

An official statement from the club read “Fatawu Safiu comes from Ghana, is 27 years old and we have recruited him from Trelleborgs FF in the Superettan where he played 12 matches in the spring. The squad that reached the top of the table in the spring has now been further strengthened and the competition in each place has increased"

“We see this as a great competitive advantage over other top competitors as injuries and suspensions will always disturb teams with narrow troops during the autumns.”

He has in the past played for Portland Timbers 2, Whitecaps and Vimmerby as well as Ghana Premier league clubs namely Eleven Wonders, Inter Allies and Asante Kotoko.
