Red Bull Salzburg defeated Barcelona 2-1 in a preseason friendly match on Wednesday afternoon at the Red Bull Arena.

It was an exciting game which the home side dominated for long spells as they took the lead with a ferocious strike from Luka Sucic with a belter beyond Marc Andre Ter Stegen from about 25 yards.

The Spanish giants later equalized through Mathew Braithwaitein the 82nd minute of the second half of the game.

Ghanaian youngster Forson Amankwaah who is gradually being eased into the first team was given a cameo appearance as he come on in the 89th minute as a substitute for Mamady Diambou.

The 18 year old quickly made his mark as he started the attack that gave Red Bull Salzburg the win in the preseason friendly with the goal scored by Brenden Aaronson.

He played on loan at feeder club Liefering when he was sent there in February by RB Salzburg where he played ten matches scoring three goal in ten appearances.

Amankwaah will be hoping to impress coach Mathias Jaissle in order to stake a claim for a place in the team ahead of the 2021/2022 season.
