Ghana’s Black Stars will be without four key players—Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil, Kingsley Schindler, and Osman Ibrahim—for their crucial 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

The players, who were initially part of Coach Otto Addo's 25-man squad, have been sidelined due to injuries picked up over the weekend.

Here is an update on the players:

Thomas Partey
The Arsenal midfielder is currently facing medical issues, and his club has scheduled further tests in the coming days.

As a result, Partey will be unavailable for the upcoming fixtures.

Joseph Paintsil
Paintsil reported hamstring pain following his last match on Saturday, October 5.

His club doctors have scheduled an MRI for Monday, October 7, ruling him out of the doubleheader against Sudan.

Osman Ibrahim
The forward experienced calf muscle discomfort during his last game and was substituted in the 65th minute.

His club has informed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of his unavailability for the AFCON qualifiers.

Kingsley Schindler
The winger is currently undergoing treatment for a medical emergency, making him unable to join the squad for the upcoming matches.

The Black Stars will face Sudan on Thursday, October 10, at the Accra Sports Stadium and again on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in Libya for the second leg of the qualifiers.

Despite the absence of these key players, Coach Otto Addo will look to rally his squad for the important AFCON qualifying games.
